84% Eviction cases dismissed: 84% of households facing eviction in Dane County from April to June 2025 had their cases dismissed due to the efforts of the EDDP Over $5.6 million in rental and utility assistance distributed: TRC distributed $5,604,455 in critical emergency rent and utilities assistance this quarter to at-risk households in the Dane County community. Over 1,500 Court Appearances: TRC staff and mediators attended weekly initial appearances and trials for all Dane County eviction court dates 61 Household provided no-cost legal representation: The EDDP program’s partner attorneys defended 10% of tenants this quarter and attended 253 hearings and trials. Only 1% of tenants who were represented obtained an attorney through a non-EDDP partner organization, underscoring the vast need the program’s legal services fill.

On Oct 1st, 2025, Tenant Resource Center entered a new chapter in our mission of housing justice for all. COVID-related Emergency Rental Assistance has expired. Until further notice, TRC currently does not have additional rental assistance available to the vast majority of the public.

RSVP of Dane County RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) of Dane County is primarily a volunteer placement agency, offering a variety of programs under its umbrella. These programs are designed to connect seniors with meaningful opportunities in the community. At the upcoming mini resource fair, RSVP will provide registration forms for both volunteers and passengers. Volunteers must complete a background check, have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a car. Passengers simply need to fill out an eligibility form. The River Food Pantry The River is South Central Wisconsin’s busiest food pantry. Services include free groceries for pickup or delivery, to-go meals, online grocery orders, mobile meals, and after-hours food lockers. The River also recovers food and resources—that would otherwise go to waste—from local retailers. Since 2006, The River has grown to serve over 3,000 people every week in pursuit of its vision: a fully nourished community. On Friday, Drs. Carolina Sarmiento and Revel Sims presented research conducted by their Chican@ & Latin@ Studies students at UW–Madison. In collaboration with TRC, the students surveyed tenants who had accessed our services, centering their voices and housing experiences in Dane County.

Thank you to our volunteers! Since January 2025, TRC Volunteers have made 853 calls and have helped renters with repairs, applications, finding housing, ending a lease, security deposits, and eviction. ¡Gracias a nuestros voluntarios! Desde enero del 2025, Voluntarios de TRC han realizado 853 llamadas y han ayudado a los inquilinos con: reparaciones, solicitudes, búsqueda de vivienda, depósitos de seguridad, desalojo, asistencia financiera, discriminación, contratos de alquiler, finalización de un contrato de arrendamiento, y alquilar con antecedentes penales.
