Congrats Zohran on being the first Mets fan to realize that if he wanted to see a big win in his lifetime he’d have to do it himself
WIND ADVISORY: 1pm Wednesday to 1am Thursday; wind gusts up to 50mph possible in the mountains.

RED FLAG WARNING: 11am to 6pm Wednesday; dangerous wildfire conditions will be present. Outdoor burning of any kind is highly discouraged.
The album as a whole is one of the absolute worst I've ever listened to.
That is for people of greater authority and knowledge than me to determine.
Per UVA: all clear has been given.
Per @UVASafety on X and emergency text alert:

"UVA Emergency Alert: ACTIVE ATTACKER with a gun reported in area of Shannon Library 160 McCormick Road. RUN HIDE FIGHT"
Sunshine has returned for this first Monday of November 2025.

I saw a werewolf drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic's.

His hair was perfect.

Here's a different perspective of our lack of rain so far this October in Charlottesville. Days in green mark days of measurable rain. We haven't even seen a half-inch of rain all month.

I am hoping between one-half and one inch of rain will fall between now and midday Thursday.
*Most intense Atlantic hurricanes by lowest barometric pressure:
1) Wilma (2005): 882mb
2) Gilbert (1988): 888mb
T-3) Melissa (2025): 892mb
T-3) Labor Day Hurricane of 1935: 892mb
Not a result of Melissa but rather from the potent low-pressure system that will be bringing us our rain. It will be breezy if not windy Thursday afternoon through Friday night.

#Melissa's landfall intensity of 185 mph/892 mb ties it with the Florida Key's Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 as the record minimum pressure of any TC making landfall *anywhere* the NATL basin. I feel for the residents of #Jamaica 😞

With leaves at or near peak across central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley, a wind forecast like this is NOT what you want to see if you have any hopes of checking out the foliage. There may not be many leaves left on the branches by the end of the week!
This Sunday marks the end of Daylight Saving Time. We'll do so locally by turning clocks BACK one hour. How will this affect sunrise and sunset times? The graphic below provides some insight.
Rain Wednesday night into Thursday morning won't be a drought-buster but some places could see more than a half-inch. Halloween will be windy but dry for trick-or-treating and high school football games. The jury is still out on rain chances early next week...

Major Hurricane Melissa churns to the south of Jamaica.

The storm is currently a Category 5 hurricane with wind speeds of 175 mph (281 km/h).
Today's highest rainfall total (so far) is a whopping 0.07" in Troy, Fluvanna County. Woo.

Showers should be gone before midnight. Skies will clear afterward and Wednesday will be a sunny, cooler, and breezy day with elevated fire danger.
Sooooo glad you tried it and loved it as much as I did. Cheers! 🙂

@traviskoshko.bsky.social was right y’all, the pumpkin latte at Grit is pretty spectacular! If you enjoy a autumnal latte, you don’t want to miss this one!
Looks like a great night ahead to check out the Orionids Meteor Shower in central Virginia. Skies will be clear and moonlight won't be an issue. Enjoy!
