There is also Fox Glacier 30 minutes drive away. You can do a flight over both as well as the walks 🤩

They are becoming rare, even in Thailand, but can still get fan-only window opening trains from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi and Chumphon to Hat Yai.
(As of 2019, havent been recently)
We would rather third class travel for this reason alone.
Also love the epic train trips with opening windows in India

Another place we were meant to go in 2020, and then the pandemic hit.
It's now back towards the top of the #travel bucket list, along with Japan, Sri Lanka, Fiji and ofcourse and firstly, our 22nd visit to Thailand 😉
