DUAL TANKA
Sometimes intention
to change, deep and persistent,
launches tsunamis
of resistance, a backlash
drowning our initial aims.

I struggle amid
towering waves, see no land
ahead, no harbor
behind. Weakening, tired,
still I swim against the tide.
