Daniel Wheeler’s “Me On a Beam” (salvaged wood, cast stainless steel) is part of the two-person exhibition Valence with Wheeler and Azadeh Shladovsky. “Me on a Beam” is a play on “Mise en abyme” the French phrase for a picture within a picture implying infinite visual replication.

As a resident of #Portland it is impossible to capture how unhinged this is. We are a low crime city and the ICE protest "siege" consists of one auxiliary ICE office that normally has at most a dozen weirdos debating what performance art they should use to block a single driveway

kings would often execute theater actors who critiqued the monarchy. Somehow monarchs were so dumb that puppeteers often survived mocking the crown.

"It's hard to overstate the seriousness of this. I can't recall a time when the government was arresting federal representatives, when department heads in the federal government were treating federal representatives as if they were little more than common criminals." - @jamellebouie.net

4 Democrats didn’t vote and another 3 Democratic seats are vacant due to member deaths

Four Democratic absences (Correa, Beatty, Randall and Norcross) and the deaths of Grijalva, Turner and Connelly left the Democrats down 7 votes as the bill passed by 2.

Two Republicans also didn’t vote.

Trump has developed plans to take over Greenland and Panama by force if necessary.

Despots, like others, have a short stay on this planet. They seek to redraw lines on the planet, and wreak havoc and destruction for centuries.

Will there be an antidote for nationalism?

IMPEACH KRISTI NOEM.
kevinmkruse.bsky.social
The state of California needs to arrest the DHS "security" forces for assault and every Democrat in the U.S. Senate needs to sign onto a campaign to impeach Kristi Noem.

Right fucking now.

If they can handcuff a U.S. Senator for asking a question, imagine what they will do to you.

Raids have been going on here for months. What’s new is the militant amplification. Neighbors are watching to help out and speak up if they see ICE, the same way volunteers stepped up for their communities during the Eaton and Palisades fires.

Track 16’s downtown location is at the busiest part of the Fashion District next to Santee Alley, which is one of the most vibrant centers where working class Latin American folk come to shop. Many of our neighbors are scared and on high alert.

Great one by @kateshaw.bsky.social Whatever you think of unitary exec theory, SCOTUS' shadow docket order quietly keeping some firings in place while litigation proceeds - despite the firings violating statutes & precedent - emboldens Trump to keep violating the law.
