For their safety and privacy they must remain anonymous, but this is a pillar of our community, loved and verified by those of us running this fundraiser. Our friend is facing a trial in February regarding the custody of their young children. The case against them is based on the fact that their primary form of income is sex work. Notably, the judge of the initial custody arrangement ruled that their job was not reason enough to restrict their parenting time years ago. Because of this precedent, their lawyer feels very confident they will win their upcoming case. To defend their rights to parent their own children, our friend needs to raise $75,000 by February 2026. This staggering amount of money is required by the court to cover the costs associated with a two day trial (lawyers fees, expert witnesses, the court reporter, depositions, creation of trial binders, the list goes on). If they cannot secure these funds by the February deadline, they will be forced to settle, resulting in severely reduced interaction with their children. We obviously do not want this to happen. Our friend has provided for themself and their children for years, fighting their custody battle in private while continuing to be an incredible parent, friend, and educator. They can no longer face this by themselves, which is why we are asking for your support. In our current political climate, we know that our friend's situation is especially precarious. This is a crucial moment to show solidarity with a community member who needs it more than ever.

After sharing a list of tips for companions on how to move their audience from X to Bsky, a number of lovely clients asked me to do the same from their side. So clients and admirers, this one’s for you:
How clients can actively support sex workers moving from X to Bluesky: 1. Ask for their Bluesky handle publicly Comment on your favourite provider’s X posts with something like: “What’s your Bluesky @? I’d love to follow you there.” This signals that there is already an audience waiting. If they already have a Bluesky account, it makes it easier for others to find them through that interaction. If they don’t, it can be the nudge that convinces them it’s worth setting one up. 2. Be vocal about why you want to leave X Post about your concerns with the platform. For example: misuse of Grok, constant extremist political content, or seeing sex workers you admire being harassed or verbally abused in replies. Make it clear that Bluesky is where you would prefer to follow and interact with companions. When we see posts like this, we can repost them so they gain visibility and reach other providers who are on the fence. 3. Credit Bluesky when booking Most booking forms include a “Where did you find me?” section. Even if you originally discovered someone elsewhere, if you know they have a Bluesky account, write “Bluesky”. This directly shows that the platform is converting into real enquiries and bookings, which is the strongest incentive for us to prioritise it. 4. Engage with newer Bluesky accounts Like, reply, repost, and follow especially newer or quieter accounts. Posting into the void is discouraging, and early engagement makes a huge difference to whether someone sticks around and invests energy into the platform. 5. Move your attention, not just your words If a provider is active on Bluesky, interact with them there instead of X. Engagement patterns matter, and we notice where conversations and interest are actually happening. 6. Recommend Bluesky to other clients If you’re part of private groups, forums, or chats where companions are discussed respectfully (we don’t want sex-worker-hating clients polluting this platform), mention that Bluesky is where many providers are heading and where you prefer to engage. Word of mouth works both ways. 7. Talk about Bluesky during dates If your companion already has a Bluesky account, mention a post of theirs you particularly enjoyed. If they don’t, tell them you’d genuinely love to see them there and would follow and engage with their content. Hearing this directly, face to face, makes a huge difference. 8. Be patient during the transition Growth is slower at first, and not everyone can move all at once. Encouragement, consistency, and visible support make it feel safer for us to take the leap.
