I walked to kindergarten by myself in the early 80s. Sometimes with older kids in the neighborhood but not always. My school was not even half a mile away, so not far, but had to cross 3-4 streets. I took public transportation to school on my own starting in jr high (including bus transfers).

I usually just delete political texts at this point but I actually did answer one this morning asking how I planned to vote on this and a response text to tell them I already voted. (Literally put mine in the drop box the same day I received it.)
