This is a female hihi or stitchbird.
Endemic to New Zealand and once restricted to the North Island and some off shore Islands. Serious attempts to stop their extinction have been successful.

The Mourne mountains are usually my main focus when my camera is pointing in their direction, but in this case they were demoted in favour of this rock pool.

The Giants Causeway consists of some 40,000 columnar basalt interlocking columns. Since I first time I saw pictures of this amazing place, I desperately wanted to experience it in person and just a few days back I did.
