🏡 Bournemouth needs more good-quality, affordable homes. But building houses alone isn’t enough; we must build communities.

That means planning new developments around transport, schools, green spaces, and health and local services that help people to thrive.

Ella wants to know what the Government is doing to prevent deforestation in the Amazon. So I asked them.

The Amazon is the lungs of our planet, and it’s vital we do everything we can to protect it for her generation.

It was to be back at King’s Park Academy last week to hand-deliver letters from me and the Secretary of State for Education to the pupils who met her during her visit.

Their questions, ideas, and energy shone through, and they made Bournemouth proud!

Great to see Ojo Rojo staying in the heart of Bournemouth. The Triangle will miss them, but Exeter Road’s about to get a lot more colourful.

Wishing Trevor, JJ and the team all the best as they prepare to open the doors in November. 🎉

When everyone tells you you’re not good enough, you start to believe it. The same is true of Bournemouth.

But this town has always had the people, the passion, and the ideas. Now, we’ve got the recognition and the investment to match.

Great to catch up with Kaoutar, one of the brilliant minds behind We Are Boscombe.

Their work is all about bringing people together and building a stronger, more vibrant Boscombe.

I’m proud to have my office here, to support local projects like this, and to keep championing Boscombe’s future. ❤️

Seaside communities — like ours — face some of the country’s starkest health inequalities. Those inequalities cannot be improved without the right people talking to each other.

That’s why I brought together local health leaders from the NHS and the council to discuss how we can expand access.

Over 1,200 residents have said no to another Town Council in Bournemouth and signed my petition.

We don’t need more councillors, more taxes, or more meetings.

Sign and share the petition to make sure our message is impossible to ignore.

Ending rough sleeping is close to my heart. I’m glad to have helped secure over £2m for local services — building on £867k earlier this year.

On World Homeless Day, I want to thank everyone working to support people out of homelessness.

It was great to join Smartphone Free Childhood Dorset for their information evening at Patch Places, which explored how communities, schools, and parents can work together to make childhood happier and healthier. 📱

I met Dr Alex Blower to discuss Boys’ Impact, which brings educators together to tackle the gap in GCSE results for boys from working-class backgrounds and understand when, how, and why too many of them drop out of education.

I was back at JP Morgan Chase today to meet their CEO, where they've announced more big investment on the way.

That means economic growth, and real opportunities for local people. We’re building a Bournemouth that’s bursting with opportunity, and where it's a great place to build a future.

Today, we remember all those killed in the appalling attacks by Hamas terrorists on October 7.

I stand unequivocally with the Jewish community against hate and in the hope of the return of all of the hostages held in Gaza, and for a just and lasting peace.

It was great to show Bridget Phillipson University Hospitals Dorset's newest community diagnostic imaging centre at Health Sciences University, & share the impact collaboration is having with greater access to scans.

The new centre means quicker diagnoses and better care.

Whether it’s a university degree or a technical qualification, students deserve the chance to succeed without being priced out. Bringing back maintenance grants for the students who need them most is vital to equalise access.

Play is instinctive, natural, and essential. But it’s being eroded.

❌ 800 playgrounds closed in the last decade
❌ 2 million children live >10 mins from one
❌ In Bournemouth East, only 35% of children live within reach of a play area

Education isn’t only in classrooms, and it doesn't only come from teachers.

I introduced Bridget Phillipson to Steve and Luke from @AFCBCommunity, so she could hear about the work they do locally to provide 150+ sessions a week — including walking football, girls' sessions, and disability sessions.

Gemar chatima tova to everyone in Bournemouth East observing Yom Kippur. Wishing you a meaningful fast.

The High Court has ruled that a PPE supplier who failed to deliver on their contract during the pandemic must repay every penny, plus interest.

That money will go back where it belongs: into the services people depend on.

I grew up in poverty. 1 in 4 kids in Bournemouth still do. We can change that, and I won’t stop until every child has the best chance of succeeding.

As a former young carer, I know how important it is for young carers to be heard.

I invited Krista and Dan from MYTIME to meet the Education Secretary. They spoke powerfully about how school often makes life more complicated, not easier, giving a crucial voice to those who slip through the cracks.

I had a lovely time visiting Dingley’s Promise in Bournemouth and seeing the difference they’re making for children with SEND.

Early years support changes lives — giving families reassurance and children the foundation they need. 🧸
