On Android, they hook into a possibly installed translation app like the native Google Translate app or any app that supports a "process text" intent: github.com/bluesky-soci.... On my device, it shows a picker where I can select apps like Google Translate, but also Microsoft Edge or ChatGPT.

👋 Hi Bluesky! I've opened github.com/bluesky-soci... that adds built-in translation as a progressive enhancement on browsers that ship the Translator API developer.chrome.com/docs/ai/tran... (Chrome 138+). On other browsers, it falls back to the present behavior of linking to Google Translate.

Did some exploration around stress-testing the multimodal capabilities of the Prompt API and found out that apparently it's quite 🎨 color-sensitive: blog.tomayac.com/2025/09/16/p.... Not something super actionable, other than maybe a heads up to play with color-preprocessing.

It seems like this is (or at least is related to) github.com/WICG/keyboar.... Might make sense to comment there with your use case. When would you not know when a keyboard lock is taken, but be in a position to query this information? In an iframe embed?

Since the goal here is to allow web applications to override shortcuts from the OS or UA there should be a way to determine for which shortcuts this is required. Otherwise an application has no way...
