I do this: I'll really like a band, listen to everything they put out until they release an album that, in my opinion, is underwhelming. I will then stop listening to anything but the earlier albums, only to find, years later, that they did some great stuff after the "underwhelming" album.
Right. I think he gives guitar lessons/seminars there. I saw him do a solo show in Charleston, SC about 3 years ago. He can still play.
Jorma Kaukonen is still around. He was even born in D.C.
This is only another step in his ultimate goal: only white male landowners can vote, just like the Framers intended.
Sadly, I just learned a few minutes ago that we lost one of my favorite songwriters yesterday. RIP Dave Cousins. Thank you for the treasure of music you've left us.

Meg, on the recommendation of my daughter, @thetomatowriter.bsky.social, I bought the trilogy. I've finished the first two books and am looking forward to starting the third soon. I have really enjoyed your work and I'm excited to see what happens with the characters next.

Day 30

Thank you again, @buddygott.bsky.social , for such a fun challenge.

I end where I started, with Deep Purple, with yet another lineup change. Glenn Hughes, from Trapeze, joins on bass and David Coverdale takes over on vocals for Burn.

The amazing Tedeschi Trucks Band with a cover of Tangled Up in Blue featuring three singers, a piano solo and a couple of Derek's outstanding guitar solos.

I saw him last year in an amphitheatre near Nashville. Opened with Cortez and played two more from Zuma in the encore. Incredible performance.

Day 27

I was prepared to use another dark Java related song today but, when I was pulling the video up, I found this old Humble Pie number and couldn't resist adding Steve Marriott to the conversation.

We just looked at each other for a second and then I called the hotel and booked another night. It was a great show.
A now departed friend and I drove down to Franklin to see Neil Young last year at some amphitheater built in an old quarry. He was supposed to play on Wednesday night and, when we got to Nashville, it was pouring down rain and I got a notification that the show was being postponed to Thursday.
I've not been there. I've seen a few shows at the Ryman, which I love, and one years ago at Bridgestone. I had tickets to see Dar Williams at City Winery last year but life events interfered to prevent that trip. Nashville is on the outer edge of my concert driving circle.
Nice, Do. I didn't realize she was in Nashville last night or I may have tried to drive down there for it. What venue did she play?
Agree with you about the Live at Pompeii version. I was familiar with Echoes before I saw them back in '73. I was NOT familiar with Careful With That Axe, Eugene before the concert. Hearing that for the first time in concert was an experience.

Day 26

This one's a bit long but it absolutely fascinated me as a high school stoner in 1973 when I saw these guys in concert for the first time.

Day 25

If I recall correctly, Blue Cheer was known as one of the loudest bands to see in concert back in their heyday of 1969-1970. Anyway, here they are covering the Mac Davis/Delaney Bramlett penned Hello L.A., Bye Bye Birmingham.

Day 24

I have a few guidelines for these challenges:

1. Avoid repeating artists
2. Try to make it interesting
3. If a Jefferson Airplane song fits, use it

This is a really fun game show, folks.
This Wednesday at 9 Eastern. we'll be recording a pilot episode for The Order of Things, an original game show format I've created. Here are some questions from our test episode. Send me a DM if you'd like to join us!

From, in my mind, one of the best writers America has to offer these days, Thin Blue Flame by Josh Ritter.

Day 21

A bit less bluesy than the Animals' version, this amped up take on House of the Rising Sun by Detroit's Frijid Pink was my introduction to this great song.
