Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's election! For more information about the Library's civic resources, visit www.toledolibrary.org/civics/.
In November 2024, Lucas County voters approved a one-mill bond to fund capital improvements across the Toledo Library system. The $153 million investment supports reconfiguration, renovation, expansion or new construction at nearly all of the Library’s locations over the next decade.
Construction is anticipated to start in late 2026. The expansion will modernize the facility with updated spaces for collections, programming, study areas, technology, and community engagement.
The design phase is expected to begin in late 2025, following a series of community listening sessions held in October 2025 that were facilitated by Toledo Design Collective.
Buehrer Group has worked with the Library on several projects, including the King Road and Mott branches and renovations at Reynolds Corners Branch. The Mott Branch received the 2021 AIA Toledo Architecture Honor Award. Reynolds Corners was the first library in Ohio to achieve LEED Silver status.
The Toledo Library has selected Buehrer Group Architecture & Engineering, Inc., a Maumee-based design firm, to lead the architectural planning and design of its expanded Holland Branch.
