His name is D’Arcy.
Thank you! He’s so shiny!
Happy National Black Cat Day! This is my cat D’Arcy wishing you a happy, safe, and scary Halloween. He was rescued from a TNR colony about 3 years ago.

PSA: keep your cats safe from weirdos!

The people who live here are clearly fabulous! And here I am, afraid to put up one sign, because some of the people on my block are fascist Trumpers.
This is amazing. And it’s truly the stuff of nightmares.
Nisha Vora is fabulous! (rainbowplantlife.com) You don’t have to be plant-based to love the deep flavors of her food. Her “whipped tofu ricotta” and “mushroom carnitas tacos” are incredible. I used a gift card at Barnes & Noble to buy her book (not cheap!). Love it.

Ha ha ha. No oven mitts? Next time the cat distribution system finds me, this upside down ultrasound test will be performed before adoption.
The kids with polio, rickets, black lung, chicken pox, whooping cough, scarlet fever, mumps, and measles would like a word.
Signed. Shortened below:

“Animal Victory is petitioning Mr. Clayton Melinkovich, County Attorney, for felony animal cruelty charges, and Governor Mark Gordon, with our demand for better wildlife protection in the state, in addition to the maximum felony punishment allowed by law for Cody Roberts.”
Ah, something else to ignore for the Nobel committee: serial killer.
I signed this petition a while back, and I’m so happy for Mootilda. I wish for more escapees. 🌱
Oh man. I’m totally the same — and when the first 5 min of the movie featured a pangolin sting operation, I paused the movie and googled a summary to make sure I was not going to cry. It was inspiring though, and reinforced the connectedness of every living thing on the planet.
Apropos of this, I watched a documentary last night called “Pangolin: Kulu’s Journey” and it was so moving. It does NOT feature the trauma of being the most trafficked animal on the planet, but it’s always in your mind as you watch the movie. Spectacular photography.
And this is why I follow a bunch of vegan accounts on Bluesky — it makes me feel less isolated or weird. So, thank you for your posts. 💚
There are a few, yes, although almost always downtown LA, and they’re sometimes fun to go to — but it’s hard to convince friends to go. I was actually thinking of doing one of those Meet-up groups for vegans in my area (LA harbor/Palos Verdes), but I may be too lazy to lead anything.
A quote for the vegetarians who are ok with dairy: “Most people assume leather comes from cows raised for beef. In fact, much of the world’s leather comes from dairy cows. Their hides are thinner and smoother from years of confinement, which makes them especially desirable for “high-end” goods.” 😞
I’ve thought about just kind of hanging out about the fridge case that has the hodgepodge of “plant-based,” and “gluten free” items to introduce myself to possible vegan friends, but that does seem a bit desperate.
I’ve a few processed vegan foods I buy, like crumbled feta and Just Egg, and when the store is sold out of one of them I’m like, “Wait, who’s buying this?” Because, frankly, I always feel like the sole vegan in my town. But there must be others!
I’ve a feeling that it’ll be people who never served in the military who would buy a bejeweled dog tag. So faux.
Really great. My feline overlords cannot see this!
I guess we don’t need to resurrect the Know Nothing Party — it’s clearly alive and well.
Keep those op-eds coming! I like “Oval Office vulgarian.”

I saw a few vulgar signs at the protest — but they were written by people who do not hold the highest office in the land. Trump is degrading the country to a gross, unserious level, enabled by ppl of coarse sensibilities.
