It was a successful Halloween!
We had so many trick or treaters come through, we ran out of candy just after 8 PM (the picture doesn’t even show all the candy we had and I usually like to stay “open” until 9 pm).

For the treat providers, we had a Blue Jays cookie cake!

Thomas McGuane is among the last great outdoorsmen-novelists. Tyler Austin Harper visited the author on his Montana ranch to see what we stand to lose:

💀 Get yourself ready for #Halloween by listening to this spooky tune. No lyrics… just lively blues with a xylophone that coffin-nails the "spooky-ooky" effect. 👻

Once someone reaches a certain point of wealth, every additional penny they bring in that isn't spent helping others is just pure, unadulterated, selfish greed
I don't see a lot of people talking about this, so I want to highlight something GOOD

Billie Eilish stood in a room full of billionaires and said "you're billionaires... Why?"

She donated 11.5 MILLION DOLLARS to food equity and climate orgs, which Stephen Colbert announced to said billionaires.

People who actually have some meaning and purpose in their life besides money are able to look at their own wealth and say “hey I don’t need all of this”

A thing about the weird right wing reaction to masking for covid is like, you realize that even if your risk of death dropped with vaccination…not everyone has a low risk, right? And the people who are at a higher risk are the ones masking? So you’re just..haranguing people in danger?

I so this earlier and was curious, based on everything I could find it accounts for more than 10% of her known net worth. So unlike a lot of mil+ charity donations it is a real chunk of her wealth going to charity.
