I don’t know him personally, but I’m told he’s a @massdems.bsky.social central MA leader which leaves me to wonder if this is really what our party leaders should be saying about female candidates for office from our own party? With Dems like this, who needs MAGA Republicans? Do better!
Setti was an excellent Mayor in Newton who I proudly voted for and I always hoped that he would re-enter politics and seek higher office. RIP Mr Mayor.
Setti Warren, who served two terms as mayor of Newton, Mass., has died. Warren, a Navy veteran who was the first African-American to be popularly elected to a mayoral seat in the state, also ran for governor and the US Senate. He was 55. https://bit.ly/3JyIzqb

Congratulations to Auburn Town Meeting for approving the last of the required zoning changes to comply with the MBTA Communities Act.
This is the leadership I would have liked to see in Massachusetts instead of a political press conference that encouraged donating more. I’ll donate - but real leadership from a Governor would have been nice. Betting Sonia Chang Diaz would have delivered

Gov. Walz announces $4 million for MN food shelves [RAW]
Gov. Tim Walz announced $4 million in emergency funding for Minnesota food shelves as the ongoing government shutdown threatens to cut off SNAP benefits for countless Minnesota families.

Will definitely take some time to get used to it, but a study (albeit small sampling) from nearby Connecticut shows promise for positive effects. Since the study most CT departments have adopted the practice

One of 8 pedestrian safety projects being constructed this fall throughout the City. Markings expected to start this week
Spent 17 years in Brookline working (& battling) with them when it came to Greenline improvements and their desire to install fences to cattle call passengers to their detriment. The commuter rail ops reputation is even worse. So I’m not surprised that this was their improvement strategy here. (2/2)
Sadly this is nothing new for the MBTA. They always prioritize their ops over the convenience of their riders and usually shield it behind “safety” and “accessibility” claims. (1/x)
I saw them painting over it and it was sad to see - was one of my favorites honoring the maiden/mother/crone. Though I’m looking forward to see what they are painting next.
I honestly find it hilarious that maga right wingers love to call people ‘snowflakes’ &mention safe spaces.

But release a light hearted educational quiz about walking, biking, traffic safety and watch them loose their minds. I wonder if they see the irony in being so triggered by a Facebook post?
Excited to add “watching concrete dry” to my skill set on Linked In. 😀
This is why I don’t go out to watch sports. Inevitably someone will say something stupid, others will join in, and I’ll have the urge to either pull my hair out & stay silent OR tell them why they are idiots. Just not worth it.
Agreed. But I’m happy that he is beating Trump at his own game for the time being.

Love that Worcester DTM has put these up on select crosswalks in the city. Small sample size, but I really think they help! I feel like I’ve had cars stop for me that normally wouldn’t.

Glad they are having a positive effect. We put out 20 in the spring and just added another 25. Just need to have the contractor slide them out of the middle of the crosswalk and onto the double yellow centerline. That way they don’t interfere with vision impaired pedestrians
I was all in for them when I lead Brookline’s Transportation Division (where we lead Massachusetts in early implementation).

Now all in with them in Worcester with the support of City Manager Batista, Mayor Petty, & the City Council.

Glad that our office, Worcester DTM, could support and play a role in this great Main South CDC #streetart project to improve safety and access for vulnerable roadway users while building/celebrating community.

I learned a long time ago to never argue when they try to send food home with you - because they always seemed to be right
Yes, that’s why I provided the 2 links that are used for guidance in USA. But the pedestrian sharrow (for lack of a better term) is the same.
Go to Tyson Rd. They are used to dedicate a space for pedestrians where sidewalks are not currently built. Not ideal, but a start. Some info is available here: highways.dot.gov/safety/prove...

Great use of street art in Worcester’s Main South to beautify the area, build community, & improve safety for all. TY Main South CDC for securing the grant & organizing this event. Glad Worcester DTM could offer support. Looking forward to its completion next week. PC David Jerry. #streetsforpeople
Want to know when something is going terribly wrong domestically under a Republican president? They start an unprovoked war with a Middle Eastern country. #nokings #nowarwithiran
