Against a riot of glorious Autumnal colour and framed in oak, here is my new work featuring the Hobart mausoleum at Blickling Hall, Norfolk.

A glorious Autumn evening at Arlington. It’s on evenings such as these that I feel very fortunate to call this place home.

I’ve been working on a new piece off and on for the last couple of weeks. Hopefully I’ll finish it in the next day and I’ll be able to share the finished work. But, for now, here’s a detail from the work in progress.

The greatest loss in our national response to mourning is a sense of propriety. There is so much awful tat that gets left at graves, none of it meant to last. It is just marking the moment for the individual leaving it, rather than any true act of commemoration.
A visit, two decades in the making, to the church of St. Enodoc, tucked into the folds of the Cornish coastline.

Is there a finer pairing ever to have written a church guidebook than Edmund Blunden and John Piper for Long Melford in Suffolk?

Thank you, David!

You should definitely give it another go - a basic set up can be really inexpensive and provide hours of fun. With the graphic sensibilities you already have I’m sure you’ll reconnect with it in no time.
Here are a few photographs showing the stages from drawing, to cutting, to first proof of my Felbrigg Hall linocut.

Thanks so much, Chloe!
If you’re in or around Falmouth on Saturday 18 October why not pop along to the Ink, Paper & Print Fair.

There are going to be some amazing creatives and I’m incredibly honoured (and a little nervous) to be alongside them.

If you are around why not come and say hello!
The first proof of my Hoare Monument linocut design is complete.

I will be editioning a small batch of hand-burnished prints shortly and they’ll be available on my website or in person at my upcoming fairs.

I’m working on a new piece today and also proofing my latest linocut.

Here’s a detail from my recently completed Arlington St James collage.

An Autumn walk out across the estate, through fields made by my ancestors, to sketch Loxhore church.

Thank you, Chloe! I use India ink, though sometimes I dilute it a little so it’s not quite as dark as this.
I didn’t manage to get any proofs printed today, but I’m happy with the progress made.

It’s the first of two Harvest Festival services tomorrow, so I get to enjoy the delights of Parracombe church, and I might just get a couple of prints done beforehand.

ARTISTIC POSSIBILITIES

I can’t quite believe it’s nearly 3 years since my exhibition at Talbot House opened.

You can still get prints of some of the paintings shown, and there are a few originals left, too.

You can find the available prints here: timgodden.co.uk/shop/p/artis...

That’s the cut finished, with a bit of luck I should be able to get a couple of test prints done this afternoon.

There’s a certain John Piper quality to my freshly tinted block, waiting to be cut.

I took a wander out to Loxhore church yesterday, across the estate and through the fields made by my ancestors.

Standing sentinel, a marker of the old boundary between Quarry Close and Easter Deer Park, is our youngest son Wilfred’s favourite tree.
