Thanks George! Well done for trying out CW. You sounded great!
I don’t suppose for a second you have forgotten!
Ha ha! Yes. Can’t forget them. ARE was where Martin Lynch got started of course.
Blimey, that’s rough. RNLI 200 was pretty major in my book.
Yes! I love my SDRs but they’re not so pleasing to tune around on.
Nice. And special that it was your Dad’s.
Yes! Likewise. The Lowe ad was a key part of RadCom.
Very good Chris! Nice receivers.
I hope you find one. I took a punt on this one as it wasn’t clear if it was working, but I was lucky! It is very pleasing to use.
When I was a short wave listener back in the very early 80s, I always wanted one of these, but as a schoolboy, no chance I could afford one. Found one on eBay the other day. Very nice to use.
Thanks for all your work, Pete!
Diolch Dave! O Dremarchog yn Sir Benfro.
It’s slightly challenging to send on, but I’m getting used to it. The CEC firmware has Iambic A/B emulation in it.
Best DX yet with the Quansheng on 2m and 70cm CW, just over 100 miles (170km) to EI8KN.
Just remembering that the newer rig K6(?) has a problem where you have to press the connector in very hard otherwise it doesn’t connect. Possible?
Sorry to hear that Chris. Normally, if it’s Prolific driver problems the rig and computer won’t talk at all. What error are you seeing?
Put a Quansheng on 10m CW today! Albeit using an old Microwave Modules 2m/10m transverter. The receiver was struggling a bit, but usable. 7W out of the transverter made it to the USA.
Congratulations, Phil! So long and thanks for all the fish is always appropriate!
Look forward to getting you (or your computer!) in the log shortly.
I can point in you in the direction of the firmware on here or by email, no worries.
It’s a Quansheng UV-5K(8) or something very close to that, with different firmware.
First 2m CW QSO made with Pete G4IOA using the Quansheng !
John’s loops are great. I have two here.
50W of FT8 and a vertical doing ok on 2m at the moment. A coastal location does help ! Great tropo over the last few days.
