What a powerful juxtaposition: I just heard that the $40 billion Trump gave to Argentina to bail out his autocrat friend, is about equal to the annual budget of USAID, the organization that helped people in need around the world, and was fed into the woodchipper by Musk/Doge. It’s criminal and evil.
I’m just waiting for one of those hundreds of FBI agents pressed into redacting Trump’s name from the Epstein files to leak a few choice documents.
Of course, they could have done that weeks ago.
Much as Putin was ‘very strong’ on denying meddling in the 2016 election, resulting in Trump dismissing the conclusions of his own intelligence departments.
It’ll be interesting to see how the absence of SNAP sales affects the retail grocery trade. Certainly isn’t going to help their sales.
That’s funny, considering it was the Republicans who just canceled their funding. And I’ve never heard a Republican say anything good about NPR.
I hope y’all are expending 10 or 100 times this much energy hating on FoxNews, Breitbart, OAN, X, Meta, and the right-wing infosphere as you are directing at NPR.
Sorry, Adam. Since you provide no hint what it’s about, I’m not willing to invest my time to find out.
Please add the percentage that ARE working but still can’t make ends meet without SNAP benefits.
I wish a reporter would ask: ‘So if my prescription currently costs $100 a month, how much will it cost after the 1200% decrease?’.
Things that make me go ‘hmmm’:
- if the Dems were smart enough to steal the 2020 Presidential election, why didn’t they give themselves more seats in the Senate?
- and having figured out how to steal the 2020 election, how come they lost in ’24?

The White House is asking people not to share pictures of the East Wing because it’s even worse today.
Art theft seems to be getting more attention in the NYT than the protests against the theft of our democracy. Why?
Reminds me of: ‘What’s the best time to plant a tree? 20 years ago. The next best tome? Now.’
I only hope he spends the rest of his life making amends for the damage he helped create.
Because, while it’s far from perfect, it’s the best newspaper I can get delivered to my driveway 7 days a week.

I’d rather see more/better coverage of the ‘No Kings’ protests, which was on page A23 of my Sunday NYT, and well below the top stories on the NYT app.
Apparently, no one told the creators that the oxygen mask is supposed to go over the nose.
So why was the largest protest in US history relegated to page A23 in the Sunday NYT? I’d really like to know!
Could you do us a favor and publish the list of companies?
Holding Charlie Kirk up as ‘a free-speech advocate, and an exemplar of how we should engage politically across differences…seems to place the civility of Kirk’s style of argument over the incivility of what he argued.’

To be clear, he has been lying, but that hasn’t changed. FauxNews and the rest of the MAGA infosphere have also been both lying and obfuscating, which has kept a lot of naive people in the dark. And blaming people who were deceived might make you feel better, but it won’t bring us any closer.
Lawrence O’Donnell has thrown down the gauntlet to the NYT and the mainstream media, which are so overwhelmed by Trump’s, lies, insults, and threats that theyhave stopped reporting it. Come on, guys, do your jobs!

A new analysis of political advertisers found that Facebook profits from ads that include deepfakes and other content prohibited by its own policies. It also found the company has turned a blind eye to a flood of this deceptive content.
