It's spooktober again! We restocked on Joule Thief Cats Kits, Witch hats and Jack-O-Lantern just in time for Halloween~
Our Tyrannopixelus Kex pin/SAO kit is back in stock!
Some of the Muhack hackerspace peps dropped by our tent at @why2025.bsky.social to show us the 10 years celebratory pin they made inspired by our scarabs! really can't express how happy this made us
We gifted a Joule Thief Cat to one of our friend who studied Electronic Engineering with some of us - but somewhere in the travel we lost one of the LEDs! luckily Madrid hackerspace came to our rescue and found us another yellow LED~
Thanks to everyone who came to drop by
@why2025.bsky.social
and all the wonderful people who worked really hard to make it happen, we hope you had a blast like we did~
Truly a place filled with awe inspiring souls~ #WHY2025

Hey soldering kit makers! Struggling with new coin cell regulations and have a pile of PCBs with coin cell battery holder patterns on them? I made a thing for ours that converts them to USB power, maybe it's handy for you. 🧵
Two round circuit boards with white soldermask and blue silkscreen, left shows a CR2032 holder and the right shows a USB adapter board soldered into its place instead.
That is such a neat badge! Congrats ~
It’s done. With some help I made a conference badge for Hacker Hotel. It’s a banana with an IR blaster you can use to tag other people (and hack into something else)
Two banana pcbs on a fruit and vegetables bag, with lanyards having a lot of obscure banana stickers, and a sticker sheet with memes

You might know me from one of these projects.
The hacker hotel badge, a badge looking like a pdp computer, using a RP2040 The cursed usb-c board, showing one green and one red LED. Proof of concept to show that usb-c is not symmetric. A self built digital camera, which is a lens, Sony e lens mount and a pcb with 6x4 pixels. A RP2040 devboard with a pmod with 16x8 tiny leds. It’s showing bad apple.

Hey! You may have seen my videos on Hackster.io – or my #robot owl Archimedes & other #CompanionBots; my Ouija #ESP8266 planchette PCB; the Companion Core...
Or seen me in Make:, Hackaday, HackSpace mag, the Adafruit blog, TWiT, Recomendo, etc.

As I make new project threads, I'll link them below :D
Alex (30s white woman with side-shaved blue hair) smiles over at the blue owl robot on her shoulder. Pic from 2018! Profile shot, showing my earring – a black circuit board shaped like a Ouija board planchette, which says "ESP-01" at the top and features chalk-like drawings of nasturtiums twining around it. Close-up of the same PCB in use – with an FTDI cable programming an ESP8266 module; both are plugged into headers on the circuit board. (There are PROGRAM and RESET buttons mounted to the bottom.) A bare PCB sits on the same blue silicone mat. Holding up two PCBs with a striking ribcage design, labeled "Companion Core". The left one is black, with a copper ribcage; the right one is purple, and its ribs are slightly lighter purple and raised (due to the copper layer below). This one has servos plugged into headers on one side, and the ribs stand out in gold where the solder mask has been omitted in a heart shape. The bottom of each board says, "Mittler zwischen Hirn und Händen muss das Herz sein": a quotation from Metropolis, "the mediator between head and hands must be the heart."
