K. Thyagarajan spoke about some of the foundational contributions in the evolution of quantum mechanics and formulation of the quantum nature of light.
(3/n) Ipsita Das (Princeton University) discussed how stacked 2D materials, when twisted, reveal exotic quantum states due to the periodic moiré patterns that are otherwise inaccessible. She also spoke about ways to probe some of these states with infrared optics.

Congratulations to Mohammad Sahil (PhD student, Jagannath Mondal's research group) on receiving the first prize of the Dr. K V Rao Scientific Society Awards for Life Sciences (2024-25).
(3/n) Closer home, school students (Grade 9) from the nearby Campus School visited TIFRH for curated lab tours.

The interactive sessions with TIFRH researchers covered topics ranging from cell biology to protein folding and misfolding, and glassy systems.
(2/n) ...& advanced materials including OLEDs, organic solar cells, & perovskite-based solar cells.

TIFRH students also introduced them to the research directions in theoretical and computational chemistry.
