Always choose bear the cat. Trying to be a better person but often failing miserably. Sustainable fashion, art, books, probably more politics than is healthy, rice pudding.

This is amazing. I can't express how nice it is to feel part of something positive when life has been so hard for so long under the Tories, and red Tories. You really are making hope normal again. Thank you x

If only 16.6% of its own people gave a shit why should anybody else. Labour really is dead in the water isn't it?
Labour Deputy Leadership Election Result:

Lucy Powell: 54.3% ✅
Bridget Phillipson: 45.7%

Turnout: 160,903 (16.6%)

The richest man on earth owns X.

The second richest man on earth is about to acquire TikTok and his family could soon own both Paramount and Warner Bros.

The third richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post.

See the problem here?

Will the penny drop for Labour any time soon?

Not quite sure why the media is presenting the Caerphilly result as a disaster for Labour, rather than as a perfect execution of its electoral strategy.

That strategy for *months* now has been to tell everybody who might otherwise be inclined to vote for them to fuck off.

And off they have fucked.

75% of Britons want a Wealth Tax on assets over £10m.

I do

Do you?
It's time to tax the wealth.

We've been flogging this austerity dead horse for years it's just made everything more shit, and everyone hate everyone else.

Time to try something new

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?
...the individualism and self determination of capitalism that rewards entrepreneurialism, but also the social contracts of socialism that says everyone in society has value, and also rewards people who aren't entrepreneurs, who do the every day jobs we all rely on, or can't for whatever reason
There's a spectrum of beliefs on the left, I would say communism is the far left, but probably most don't, or don't fully advocate for it.

Socialism is more popular, but my opinion is neither socialism nor capitalism are complete models, and the best system is one that incorporates both....

If you get fined £150 for pouring half a cup of coffee into the Thames, how much do you get fined for dumping two million tons of sh*t?

The answer of course is you have to pay Thames Water another £3bn a year.
How many times a week is this the appropriate response to something labour have a again got wrong

the Biggest criticism of Polanski seems to be that his politics are utopian and unrealisable in practice - these same people saying this are voting for parties who are all arguing about who can ethnically cleansed Britain the fastest, so you know… pinch of salt pinch of salt
And even if more people self identify on the right (which I am not sure is true)

When you break things down to policy, rather than left Vs right, left leaning policies are by far more popular than right ones. A lot of people just think the left are all communists or lunatics because of MSM.
Weirdly, there is actually a good article in the express I just read. Almost fell off my seat

It's so difficult to respect someone who you don't believe to be sincere or authentic. This has always been in my view Starmers, and Starmers labours main problem.

If I can't trust you to be authentic about your beliefs, I can't trust you with power over my life

It's as simple as that
The green party still prioritise environmental policies. But as Zack rightly points out, everyone already knows that about the greens, so it's a waste of precious airtime talking about it. He's right to talk about the other policies as you can't be a 1 issue party, and their other policies are good
This is precisely the problem with this Labour government. They won't even listen to their own MP's, so they're not gonna listen to you or I.

The possible wealth taxes reeves is considering is clearly in response to the green surge. That's what they'll listen to
Probably the more direct campaigns such as leafleting too. But I think just generally making sure when we talk about making a fairer society, we do so in a way that is inclusive to older people, and we don't fail to make the implicit explicit and assume they'll know
Ha ha ha. Love that 💚

It's a tough one. I'm sure their Comms team are looking into it.

I think older demographics are more likely to trust MSM and less likely to use SM, so I suppose maximising on those opportunities to talk about their policies that are popular with them.
Yeah. I agree. And actually it's bad to be pitting one group against another. Especially old Vs young.

But the over 65's is where the greens have little support. I don't think it's about specific policies aimed at that demographic, but rather how to get the message to them, and include them
