Looking for ideas.

My son has been through it this year. Cancer diagnosis. Chemo. A bad kidney that meant he had to have a nephrostomy bag. Constant trips to Stanford for biopsies and spinal infusions. Reactions from medication that sent him to the ED. Surgeries. Depression. Quarantine. Etc.

Several years ago at a con, you spoke gently and at length with a friend of mine who deals with social anxiety (as do I).

She came away a different, bolder person. She still talks about it.

I only met him once, and briefly. But his writing taught me that sf/fantasy could be literary.

I loved Heinlein and Asimov, but writers of beautiful prose they were not.
