I saw a tweet from the guy who ran the show talking about how thrilled the fans were to meet her and how much it did for the promotion and I was so happy to see that. And yes I 100% agree with you there, she’s a confident black woman who did things her own way, and a lot of people can’t stand that

Wrestling is one of those things where I feel like if you even miss a second of the action, you might not be able to fully appreciate a match or you might catch something the 2nd time that you didn’t see at first, so I try to rewatch every PPV when I have the time

The point i’m trying to make is that it still feels like a big show. Bandido vs Okada is huge, the trios title match is a big one that could go either way, and both of those segments are a big deal as well. Mercedes just made history and we’re finally finding out the bracket for the tag tournament

I also love the idea of Mercedes winning belts all around the world but not being able to win the AEW women’s world title. It gives a good story with her not being able to win the big one, and it also elevates the title reign of whoever is holding it at the time just like it did with Toni
