That said, there are other PbtA and adjacent games that I can dig GMing for, like Rhapsody of Blood.

For example, I have not been able to wrap my head around how GMing Carved by Brindlewood games are supposed to be fun for the GM, if the mystery is all on the player end.

I think it depends on the particular iteration of what system. There are games that I see nowadays that I'm left scratching my head wondering why have a GM role at all. Basically there are some branches of PbtA that I would absolutely advocate a GM for, but for others I would rather people go GMless
