Just had the police at my door, one of my neighbours is missing. He has pronounced learning difficulties and is non-verbal, if you're in the Hither Green/Lewisham area please keep a lookout. If you see him they advise to call 101/999 rather than approach him, as communication may be difficult.
I quoted one of the links to it (it's on reddit as well as doing the rounds), and just found this: www.removepaywall.com/search?url=h.... I suspect this is a public support, private dressing-down situation, I can't see TF letting it slide. Especially from a VC.

Have you seen the video of vdv and Spence leaving the pitch? Telling Frank and an assistant to do one when they (presumably) told them to applaud the fans, throwing armbands on the ground, ignoring kids, etc. It's not a good look.

But then, when you've just been booed off again by your own fans...
That said, if you can't or won't back the team even when they're bad, don't go to live games. You just make it worse by creating a bad atmosphere.
Eesh.

On first watch I didn't think this was a big deal, but on repeat viewings and reading some of the comments it doesn't look good - especially from the player who started the match as captain. It's not the camaraderie that got us through last season.

Frank's gonna have to lay the law down.
It's a self perpetuating cycle. People like me can't afford it, so then they charge more for everything to make up the diff of the people they've priced out, then people think that they're entitled to better performances than they see, so they don't create an atmosphere, so then it's harder to win
We're one point and 4 places up on where we were this time last season.

Which probably says more about the teams who were above us this time last year, but it's still a positive!
Nah, that's worse for me. If we're going to lose at home to Chelsea, go down in a blaze of glory and effort, don't peter out to a 1-0.
And Bentancur's only had one yellow so far this season.
I just realised that if they beat us by 3 goals, they'll move from 11th to knock us out of third place, and now all I can see is them winning 3-0.
Ah, thanks.

And thanks to everyone on my timeline for keeping it so clean from her poison that I hadn't seen this already!
I don't, can you give me some hints? I can't figure it out!
I mean, I live in London, but it might be worth it.
Maybe you should just stop jumping in them.
Unrelated* question, does anyone know where I can catch COVID with 100% reliability?

*It's very much related.
Just checking, are the PL saying they expect me to talk to family on two consecutive days now? Not one day of almost coming to blows and a second hiding in the pub?

That can't be right. Have I misunderstood this? Would appreciate clarity sharpish.

When you and me run the FA, the world will be a better place.
I actually laughed out loud to that. I'm only in for it if the officials can add their own rules. I want to see the ref being called to the screen, having a whispered conversation, then announcing to the Etihad that Haaland's goal won't stand because he's not allowed to shoot with his right foot.
He's the one who was also a part time DJ and model, and when he was on loan in Sweden chose not to live in provided accommodation, but got a log cabin in the middle of nowhere.

He's the coolest man in the world, I want to be him when I grow up.
In previous years they've used it when a game was played at a PL stadium as the set up was in place, and that felt really unfair towards lower league teams who weren't used to the difference in ways you play the ref. If there has to be a difference, the lower placed team should get the advantage.
@janetdaby.bsky.social why didn't you vote on this?
Farage's motion on leaving the European Convention on Human Rights failed: 154 votes to 96

All 4 @greenparty.org.uk MPs voted against it, because we believe international agreements on human rights are a good thing.

But only 63 out of 401 Labour MPs did:

That's a... well, it's a point that I had not considered..!

I had a full argument with myself about whether VAR should be used at this point between two PL teams. I started off adamant that it should be, but then I made some excellent points about parity, and decided it definitely shouldn't.
I suspect it's refs becoming used to VAR. In the league, that's the smarter call if you want reds to be nailed on - you give a yellow, if there's room for interpretation it's not overturned and if it's a clear red it is.
