I'm reminded of a story we did on @thisdaypod.com about a community in NC in the 70s that saw a chemical company dump a bunch of pcbs in their landfill. The community organized to fight back; they lost that battle. But to this day, that county has higher voting rates than any other in the area.
Moments ago: tenants of the South Shore apartment building that federal immigration agents raided at the end of September held a presser to announce they're forming a tenants union.
They're demanding, among other things, sewage removal and heat and electricity restroration.
