I wonder if Golden State put in a bid? SF hosted NBA all-star last season, so maybe there wasn't desire to do another all-star weekend so soon? I hope the bay will host WNBA all-star weekend in the next few years though
Dubs media has Festus so they might have a chance! (plus many of the Warriors coaches are old)
just watched him behind-the-back dribble off of the back of his own foot
more Brook Lopez and Dario Šarić trading three pointers in this preseason game please
Tom's insatiable appetite for Chopin Competition content has led him to search out the vboard piano forums, so that he can "tap into the psyche of the average piano listener" i.e. find out which boomers are normal or not normal about Asian pianists
ran into the same problem! I have no solutions, only commiserating

The Kings are perfect and beautiful, I wish I could be in their strategy meetings
while this would definitely counteract the pedantism, I think it would also catapult me into hitherto unseen territories of cringe (thank you for the suggestion, it made me laugh very hard)
NBA brothers graphic on the broadcast, I feel seen and understood
where did everyone get this long "a" sound in "Hansen" from! aaah!
I have been workshopping a "Yang Hansen name pronunciation guide" post for months and it may never see the light of day because I'm not sure how to write it without sounding like the most pedantic person to ever live
I think they tried to show the replay, but didn't have footage of the altercation itself, just the uncalled foul from two angles iirc

though, a lot of these players' family names are often also used as first names, which adds an exciting extra layer of cross-cultural confusion going the other way
I mention this because the Blazers pbp announcer said something along the lines of "Wesley, Grant, Sharpe, Murray, and Hansen on the floor for Portland" which is a little strange (not the actual players in that lineup)
I'd like to reiterate my stance on athletes from family-name-first countries, which is that you can refer to them by either their first name or their personal name, but if you're referring to a group of players by their family names, you need to be consistent

c'mon Bulls, put Yuki in
PRESEASON WEDGIE!!! Julian Strawther, Bulls/Nuggets, 4:20 (nice) left in the 4th quarter
I believe Beal was waived and stretched by the Suns in July, then signed with the Clippers! you could say he's on a Bradley New Deal?
I suppose he might need some time to Bradley Heal
Tyronn Lue is declining to answer questions about Kawhi Leonard and Bradley Beal playing in back to backs to begin the season.
it's a little distressing. I don't usually think of beans and peas as something that would naturally acquire lead!
in seriousness, if you drink protein shakes (whether from powder or premixed) I recommend checking this article out. especially if you drink plant-based protein! for some reason many of the popular plant-based proteins are way higher in lead than whey proteins!
my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)
