The Brown shooter was enrolled in a Master's program in Physics at Brown about 4-5 years ago; withdrew after about a year.

Providence RI police chief Oscar Perez says shooter was a 48 year old man from Florida, Claudio Manuel Neves-Valente, a Portugeuse national. Shooter killed himself as police closed in.

Not surprising that the jury saw through Walshe's silly defense. But it is rare to be found guilty of 1st degree when the body was never found. Good job by the prosecutors.

If somebody leaked the name to the media of the person of interest in the Brown University case, before they were sure they had their guy, that is pretty awful. You can't unring that bell.

We now learn that Fifa had a very specific "ask" in exchange for its "Peace Award" to Trump, with loads of gold trinkets, and that was dismissal of a criminal corruption case against senior Fifa officials. And Trump granted it. Another corrupt bargain, barely noticed (and ignored by US media).
