Sanders: Let’s be clear… If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are going to see at least a doubling in their premiums… if resolution is passed tonight, we are on a path way to throw 15 million Americans off of medicaid and the affordable care act, 15 million.

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

@peters.senate.gov I just called your office. I'm going to reiterate here. DO NOT VOTE TO REOPEN WITHOUT FULL ACA SUBSIDIES. The ACA saved my wife's life ten years ago. The GOP will never keep a promise. They are snakes. We cannot afford you to cave. The public knows whose fault this is. DON'T CAVE!

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.
We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.
We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Absolutely.
You don’t need that vacation right now.
Take care of business online.
When corporations can’t deliver their products due to air traffic shutdowns, when business travelers are stranded, then this will become a pain point for Republicans.

I’d like to see this get more traction. Americans need to stop funding the death of their democracy.

Car dealer now charging a 3% “convenience fee” when using a credit card to pay for service. Another greed scheme by Visa, MC, et al, with additional profits for the dealer.
So your corporation lost profits during Covid? So did everyone. Don’t try to make up for it on the backs of consumers.
