Aranel is a full wood-elf, born into a druid circle, but both of those were taken from her when she was five. Growing up as the only elf in the monastery, she never fit in or found her own identity. After BG3, Halsin helps her find herself, including teaching her the druidic arts

During BG3, Aranel doesn't smile easily and when she does it's small. After a few years rebuilding Reithwin, though, she smiles and laughs often and they're big and genuine

Hey, Baldur's Gate modding community: is there a mod that will let me take Halsin back to Act 1 areas? Making a save for VP, but despite the file being in Act 3 and the curse broken, when I unlock the Act 1 waypoints Halsin still won't stay in the party when I travel back.

Aranel is usually very in control of her emotions, but one time that completely fell apart was in the goblin camp. The sounds of Abdirak self-flagellating sent her mind back to painbearing at the monastery and she was nearly overcome

Wood elves in general are pretty open about romance and sex. Aranel is slightly less so after years of both being forbidden in the monastery, but it doesn't take long for her to mostly return to "normal" once she's with Halsin. PDAs are frequent and welcomed

Aranel doesn't love the snow. She prefers walking around barefoot and feeling the dirt beneath her, and the vibrations of things moving. When it's snowy, she can't feel anything. Also, Halsin berates her for risking frostbite and makes her wear boots
