Thirty years ago the Fredericton North Canadian Tire refused to let me leave because my tires were "dangerously" worn. I managed to get them to release my vehicle after promising I'd get new tires. I've never gone back to CT for any automotive repairs or inspections.

One of my elderly neighbours loudly proclaimed she got her flu and COVID shots and I'm proud of her because she believes in science and not what anti-vaxxers peddle as "proof" of vaccine injury.

It's why, despite living less than a five minute walk away from Waterloo Street, I avoid it like the plague. I'm sketched out even in a city bus—you never know when someone will flip their lid and attack the bus.
