Claiming asylum is one of the only legal ways to immigrate to the US if you don’t already have a citizen relative or a sponsorship from your employer for qualifying skills. Deporting someone—especially a child—while they’re following the legal process for immigration is just racism.

This is the problem Trump faces with his personal police: ICE has no jurisdiction over US Citizens. Without the ability to override the constitution and revoke citizenship from anyone he wants, he can only focus on immigrants and doesn’t have full gestapo powers.

If you include pending criminal charges that falls to 46% according to gov data through Sept 25th. The two data points we need though are
1) violent vs non violent offenders—there’s a big difference between murder and faking an SSN to get a job.

The State Police are enough to keep the peace. However, they really should be facing the other way, the threat to their safety is behind them.

CPD had corralled the protesters in an area where they could protest. ICE tried to approach because getting yelled at triggers them. CPD tried to walk ICE back to keep the sides separated. ICE responded by gassing everyone.

If these ICE goons and National Guard want to get warrants and go after violent criminals, fine. But snatching up US citizens, gassing people for yelling, shooting someone who blocks your car in the middle of a crowded street… State Troopers and CPD should to protect people from these thugs.
