The uninformed and uneducated masses are easier to control. Keep them stupid, hungry and fighting each other for survival and they won't know or won't care they are being manipulated and robbed. It's the GOP philosophy in a nutshell.

I'm now married to a wonderful man that is the opposite to the hateful patriarchy bs I was abused under. My mom, because she refused to escape that, turned more MAGA as time went on. Brothers, too. I left them and all that behind for my health. My new family isn't blood, but they are better.

Oh, I was rebellious from the beginning. What my dad said he hated I made a point to love. But living poor and under the thumb of him and in that type of community, options to break free were few. Education, books, they helped me escape. It took me 36 years to escape but I did it.

I can confirm that many women from daughters to wives attached to such toxic men tend to feel their value is only tied to their fathers or husbands. I was one of them. So was Mom. What kept me from being MAGA was education. Literature, history and science, and art. Education helped me break free.

And now, we are waking up yet again, caught in another historical loop of battling the elite and their rise to power. We haven't been a pro-active country with the aim to prevent atrocity. We've been a reactive country, only rushing in once the fires have already been lit. When will we learn?

We've bent ourselves to their wills. We've given them the division they wanted. We drown ourselves in distractions so we don't care about the cracks in the columns. We've given in to the violence as a norm, our grief and rage quickly dissipating to apathy. When atrocities happen, we shrug. (5/6)

The "leaders" spent decades white-washing our lives, pushing patriotic propaganda, stripping to the bones art, science and history from our classrooms, and encouraging distractions, division and violence. All to benefit their agendas. And what have we done? (4/6)

We became this way as a nation because our roots are rotten. Our foundation was sloppy. And we kept putting people in power that did not, nor ever have the people, let alone humanity, at their best interest. Our American education system is heavily focused on white-washed and propagandaized history and "teaching to the test." We have gutted art, science, history and social studies/government to make sure kids are raised to work and not think or question authority.

The horror I feel watching the videos are these victims begging for anyone to save them from being kidnapped, and nothing happening. No one stepping in. No rush of the masses stepping in and physically saving them. From their view it's traumatic from both being kidnapped and watching no one help.

I was married to an abusive narcissist for 18 years. Flattering only increased his hunger to have more attention. He raised the bar for me to praise him each time, increasing his aggression to make sure I complied. After the divorce he kept trying to "own" me. How did I break free? I ignored him.

The "conquer Freedom" part is what worries me. Conquer means to gain control of, subdue, or defeat. To eliminate or minimize. This is worrisome with the verb she chose to use.
