Today marks 4 weeks since I’ve posted sports content on any Arizona board. I’ve opted for a change. I will make sports small talk here with the few level-headed here, but I’m officially in a sports forum sabbatical. I will engage non-sports at BearDownWildcats only.

I’ve been a Student Media Director. I’ve gone to battle with my university over student editorial content. I’ve been chastised for looking out for and placing my students in the best positions for the story & safety. But at no point did I fear for my job. Crazy times normalized as political fealty.

The director of student media at Indiana University was fired amidst a dispute between university leadership and editors at the Indiana Daily Student over what content gets printed in the student newspaper.

As director of student media, Jim Rodenbush did not directly oversee or have any say over the content published in the IDS, per a charter between the IDS and the university. But he told IndyStar his firing follows a series of meetings with IU Media School leadership in which it grew increasingly apparent they were expecting him to officially prohibit students from publishing news.

Top-3 are prefect, 4-5 are a form of nitpicking damn near perfect, 6-7 are fun and a vibe, 8 is flawed 4-star debut and 9-10 are “I can see what he was going for but it doesn’t work ideally for me”.

In all reality, those two series were arguably two of the top-10 playoff series ever in the NBA. They had everything. It sucked to be on the losing end of both. I did love Hakeem (and Drexler) because of Phi Slamma Jamma. But goddamn.

Whatever fun Ayton once had as a super talent is undercut by the intensity it requires. I’ve seen him smile. I’ve seen him play hard. I’ve seen him hardly play. I’ve seen him hardly smile. Often times there’s a lather, rinse, repeat.

Too rewarding to quit, not rewarding enough to care.

I’d worry about Ayton figuring it all out if I didnt know Ayton’s nature. I learned it the hard way. I was a true believer. Still sucks to see him fail upward to LA and Luka/LeBron.

At my peak I was arguably the most chaotic SunsTwitter. I was literally awarded internal Sunnies awards for being batshit angry. Peak Johnny was cursing out and swearing off Suns for signing Kaminsky, my mortal UofA Wildcat enemy, and getting my jollies off getting blocked by media members.

One of SunsTwitter was like a friend of a coder or something here and so SunsTwitter shared the code invites en masse and were like 70% of NBA BlueSky that first year or so. But I’ve chatted with a few and most just can’t handle the isolated energy/interactions. Somehow my crazy ass can.

Very. Had intended to make it Sunday then Monday, but finally did today and worth it! Still have the leftovers to make it again, all fresh save for the chicken, which I already oven roasted and then slice thin and pan sear in the fresh bacon grease. Guac is fresh made. Bacon fresh cooked.

I should have taken a picture. Maybe tomorrow, but I just made (and ate) the best peppered Bacon Chicken Guac sandwich. Slow burn from the fresh pepper and just a tease of real spice from the red chili flake in the Guac Mayo. Toasted bun, sharp chedder and Swiss and a slice of cold crisp lettuce.

I haven’t deactivated my X/Twitter accounts because of a decades worth of archived content. Every so often I see a poster who I want to engage with. Not hedging bets. I’m here. I do miss some of the SunsTwitter that some how was first here and then just abandoned it. Very odd.

Was coming here to say this. Cardinals could easily be 4-2 despite insane injuries. They aren’t a good team. Just commenting wins last week when they were up big and this week 1st & Goal final minute and they are also 4-2.
