My cousins are still big Pokémon fans, so I'm sure they wouldn't mind as much if they get the game at some point (one of them's been eyeing it for a while but neither of them own a Switch 2 and don't plan on getting one for a while).

Either way, I didn't know such discourse was spreading around.
There’s polarization over this? I don’t know if I ever knew that. The only real major criticism I’ve heard so far is (as per usual with Pokémon games) the lack of voice acting in the cutscenes.

One major positive I’ve heard leading up to its launch was the battle system. Idk what else I’m missing.
Finally here. I know two days since launch doesn’t seem like much of a difference, but I really wish this got here earlier.
Good Fortune (2025):
If it weren't for the recent Naked Gun reboot, I'd call this the funniest movie of the year. Seriously, I had a blast with this and I applaud what Aziz Ansari was able to do with this as a first-time director.

This movie has earned its wings in my book!

Previews I got:
Mercy
Anaconda (2025)
Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere
The Housemaid
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t
Imagine a video game hating you this much.
Tron: Ares (2025):
I’m so close to calling this the best movie in the series because I genuinely didn’t think it would be this good. However, Jared Leto’s controversies are what’s holding me back from saying this is better than Legacy.

If anything, I’d say this is also another popcorn flick.

Tron: Legacy (2010):
While I do think this sequel has a slight edge over its predecessor (especially with Daft Punk headlining the music) and I can see why this remains a cult favorite, I honestly wish this had more to offer.

I will say this makes for a great popcorn flick however.

Now it's time to see what all the rage is with this movie. All I know is, I'm sure the music's gonna be fucking great since I already like quite a bit of Daft Punk's music.
Clearly something must've changed since the last time I watched this movie, because while I understand just how influential this movie would end up being, I don't think its story is very coherent.

There are many aspects that save this movie from being absolute dog water though.

Time to get this started. Is this still the revolutionary cult classic people claim this movie is? Only one way to find out.

Good chance I'm gonna have myself a little movie mara-TRON before seeing Ares tonight. It's been a hot minute since I last watched the original movie and believe it or not, I still have yet to check out Legacy, so I may as well seize the opportunity before my Ares showing starts at 9:20.

I seriously hope this ends up being better than "Kinds of Kindness"...
Roofman (2025):
I'd easily call this the best movie of the year if heavy hitters like WB's one-two-three mega punch didn't share the spotlight, but I will say it's ONE of the best.

Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst's performances and the humor were easily the best parts of this movie for me.

Sorry I didn’t post this sooner, but the movie started almost immediately after the previews ended and that caught me off guard.
Tonight at 10 PM EDT. Curious to see how this one pans out.

The Smashing Machine (2025):
The first solo directorial work from Benny Safdie after splitting from his brother nearly two years ago, I thought this was enjoyable, but nothing super special.

Dwayne Johnson's performance here might be the best one of his career. Fuck distributor A24 though.
