Managing acute pain requires a structured approach, because it is a patient's right to be pain-free. Because anaesthesiologists are the leaders of the surgical procedures, the WFSA must encourage the promotion and education of the guidelines and protocols that are constantly changing on acute pain management. During last week's AGM, Dr Morgan Edwards handed the NZSA Presidency to President-elect, Dr Jonathan Panckhurst. Dr Edwards leaves a strong legacy that we are deeply grateful for, ka nui nui te mihi ki a koe mo tō mahi. Morgan continues as Immediate Past President on the NZSA Executive Committee.
