I'm Nathaniel / The Nudie Mag, a 41 year old nonbinary photographer with sliding scale rates in the Seattle / Tacoma (and larger PNW) area!

The editing in my earlier days was more stylized and dreamlike, and there were a ton of variations on these ones. Still, the raw files stay raw, and the edits are always a work in progress

Whenever things get dark, look for the silver linings - I'm down in Portland, where you've got the darkness of threats from ice and real political crackdowns against imaginary enemies, but also the silver linings of inflatable frogs and naked bike rides

It's getting rainier out there these days, be it falling rain or raining leaves, but we have umbrellas that can come in handy, and when all else fails, we also have structures to protect us from the elements

As a spooky Halloween bonus, here is our nudie version of one of my favorite scary stories, "The Girl with the Green Ribbon"

Text: Whilst walking through the woods one day, I happened upon a beautiful young woman, completely naked, save for a silk ribbon she wore tied around her neck. When she noticed my gaze, rather than run away, she beckoned me closer. I slowly approached, and, at a loss for words, the only thing I could think to say was, 'why do you wear that silk ribbon around your neck?' The girl looked away sadly, and said with a sigh, 'I cannot ever remove this ribbon, and I cannot tell you why. But nevermind that - come with me, and we can frolick amongst the trees for as long as you please, and together we can live happily ever after.'

Text: I followed her deeper into the woods, and, true to her word, we had the most amazing time frolicking along the trees, running with the deer and other animals who greeted us as friends, and before long I knew that I was falling in love with this woman. And yet, there was something gnawing at the back of my mind, and I could not hold my silence any longer, so I said, 'my dear, this day has been perhaps the best day of my life, and I would like nothing more than to stay here with you as long as you would have me, but I just can't get this silly question out of my head: why must you wear that silk ribbon around your neck?' Again she looked morose, turned away, and said 'I have already told you - I can never remove this ribbon from my neck, and I cannot tell you why. Now, please drop this subject - if you just leave it alone, we can stay together and live happily ever after.'

Text: By the end of the day, I knew that I was hopelessly in love with this mysterious woman, and so when we came to a picturesque spot, I dropped to one knee and said, 'darling, you are the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on, and having met you, I feel that I cannot live without you. Please, would you marry me and be my wife?' The woman smiled, and happily agreed. 'First though,' I stammered sheepishly, ' if we are to wed, I simply must know, or the curiosity may drive me mad... Why must you wear that silk ribbon around your neck?' Immediately her smile faded, her eyes deeply sad, and she said, 'we could have been happy together forever, but since you cannot leave well enough alone, I will show you why.' Gently, she reached her hand to her neck, untied the silk ribbon...

As a theater person, I've always been interested in the line between what happens in the performance on stage and what happens backstage in the mysterious and magical world on the other side of the red curtain

Go spend some extra time in the parks - the trees need defending from being shut down, sold off, and privatized, and in return the trees will help you reconnect with your roots, and you may even become close friends
