08. Trick 'r Treat

A delightful weave of Halloween themed horror vignettes. Sam is an absolutely iconic character. The whole cast is great, but Brian Cox and Anna Paquin turn in standout performances.

Nicole: 8/10
Peter: 8/10
Sam from Trick 'r Treat just living his best Halloween life A group of children on a bus whom I certain will have a lovely time and nothing bad will happen ever A group of girls look for dats for a very important Halloween party A scorecard for "Trick 'r Treat"

"If it's not in your standard spooky season rotation, it probably should be." 8/10

07. Dangerous Animals (2025)

A refreshing new take on a shark movie headed by a tremendous performance by Jai Courtney. Sharks are scary, but they aren't the real monster in this flick. Absolutely worth a watch

Nicole: 7.5/10
Peter: 6.5/10

"A cool concept where the sharks are scary -- but not bloodthirsty hell beasts. #TeamMarlin" 7.5/10

"Jai Courtney is a revelation. Solid scares, uneven at times. Could probably be 15 mins shorter." 6.5/10

06: Haunt (2019)

Taking nods from the traps in "Escape Room" and the aesthetic of "Hell House, LLC", "Haunt" offers some terrifying moments with creative set-pieces and incredible prosthetics. Fun, disgusting, and creepy throughout.

Nicole 7/10
Peter 6.5/10

"Great set pieces, some fun twists. Drags at times, and has some mediocre performances." (6.5/10)

05: V/H/S Halloween

Another great installment in the V/H/S series with creative and horrifying takes on many sides of the Halloween season including home haunts, off-brand candy, local legends, and spooky soda. Not for the faint of heart!

You might recognize "A World of His Own" star Keenan Wynn from such films as "Dr. Strangelove", "Annie Get Your Gun", and "The Last Unicorn", but you may not know that his actual, full name is the much more fanciful "Francis Xavier Aloysius James Jeremiah Keenan Wynn". Yeah, we'd shorten it too.
Keenan Wynn in The Twilight Zone season one finale "A World of His Own" Keenan Wynn as Col. "Bat" Guano in "Dr. Strangelove: or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" Keenan Wynn in "Annie Get Your Gun" Captain Cully in "The Last Unicorn."

04: Clown in a Cornfield

This delivers on the premise immediately, and then exceeds expectations. Fun, charming, and actually hilarious at times, this is an easy add to your horror rotation.

03: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

A classic for a reason: one of those movies that shows you something new on each watch. So chilling and horrifying that you'll be stunned to hear director Tobe Hooper was lobbying hard for a PG rating

01: Urban Legend (1998)

An irreverent play on meta-horror in the wake of Scream (1996), Urban Legend has some fun moments. It really drags at points, but is held together by a stellar performance by Rebecca Gayheart.

Nicole: 6.5/10
Peter: 6/10

Nobody agrees with me but I think this is a top 10 TZ episode. Not bad for the very first!

On this day in 1959, The Twilight Zone debuted with its very first journey into The Fifth Dimension, "Where is Everybody?"

It's an episode that not only features great acting and cinematography, but would help set the tone for the greatest anthology series in television history.
