Are you an Eggers Nosferatu girlie or a del Toro Frankenstein girlie
Success, I got a ticket to see Frankenstein on the big screen, we're so back
Maybe even better the second time. (I did an Oceans Eleven/Black Bag double feature on my flight home today, and it was the perfect choice)
Black Bag is perfect

Happy Halloween from Will & Hannibal (aka Bri and Leah)
I don't post pictures of myself a lot on here, but you all had to see me dressed up as Hannibal wearing a custom-made dog collar (the genius of @ripbri.bsky.social) that says "Hanni Baby." Bri was my Will, obviously, but idk if she wants me posting her face
It's playing in a couple of theaters near me this weekend, but I am out of town. And it's not playing where I am 😭
Read @jasondashbailey.com's wonderful biography of James Gandolfini in one sitting on my cross-country flight today. Big recommendation

They say younger people aren’t horny or sincere about cinema anymore but my faith is rekindled by all the 5 star it made me cry and we want to fuck the monster / Victor / the movie itself reviews of @realgdt.bsky.social’s Frankenstein on @letterboxd.social
Stellan Skarsgård calling himself a nepo daddy... lol
Happy birthday to Bela Lugosi, THE Dracula. I'll be watching The Black Cat today, though, because 👇

(...and also I promised to give Dracula a break)
THE BLACK CAT rules, by the way.
Just a warm up for the dolphin heist

‘Elizabethtown’ may be best remembered for inspiring the term "Manic Pixie Dream Girl," but its legacy should also include being the first of 20 years of failed launches for a generation of leading men like Orlando Bloom:

I am not writing this thing because I am writing another thing, but I think someone could have a real fun time writing something about Rogen's work in The Studio and Good Fortune through the lens of him "playing himself"
Back on my beat, logging in to tell you all that, yes, Seth Rogen is hot in Good Fortune

Discovering that the audio version of Frankenstein that Dan Stevens did a while ago is pretty excellent
She's haunted for sure. She'll be back inside by the afternoon, scaring the fuck out of the people who swore they left her on the curb this morning

I hate gay Halloween, what do you mean you're dressed as a few small beers

...and then listen to the Dan Stevens-narrated audiobook of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, because it's extra-timely again (it will always be timely), and his reading--he does all the voices--is absolutely brilliant. A+++ work.
THE GUEST IS ON SHUDDER

Drop everything and watch it right now if you haven't seen it before.
I also have to respect Aziz Ansari's tactic of casting two guys with pretty mensch-y public images and letting them run away with the movie as a way to keep audiences from thinking about how he got mildly Me Too-ed
Thought the movie pulled its punches a little bit, as far as the progressive social commentary it seemed to want to make, but I liked it. It made me laugh, and Keanu is perfect

We see you, Spirit Halloween section sign designer, we see you
If you have not guessed my costume by now, this should give it away
Ohhh, I found JUST the suit for my costume, thank the sartorial gods
I haven't seen the film yet, but I am so pleased to apparently be vindicated
All I will say is that my least popular Nosferatu opinion has to do with Bill's performance/the creature design, and I KNOW that del Toro and Elordi are going to be cooking
One theater near me, playing only on a weekend I will be out of town 😭 I'm so furious
