I looked up Toni Morrison. The article is LONG and the style is weirdly inconsistent (e.g. only sometimes “Black” is capitalized). I skimmed it and the only “conservativeness” that jumped out was the section on “identity politics,” but the content seemed pretty neutral on a quick read.

I assume it’s about Mamdani and the Israel Day Parade. I think all the candidates would march in Pride. Cuomo’s comment about discrimination is about excluding LGBT groups from some St. Patrick’s Day parades. Columbus Day can also be controversial (because Columbus) and matters to Italian Americans.

We can debate settler colonialism and Jewish supremacy. But Zionism is not inherently religious, anti-communist or reactionary. Religious Zionism and right-wing Zionism definitely exist (and dominate Israel’s govt today) but Israel was built by secular socialists.

Yes. We were listening to the rally in Hostage Square and when Witkoff mentioned Bibi the crowd wouldn’t stop booing but when he mentioned Trump they wouldn’t stop chanting “Thank you Trump!”

Cruelty to a chatbot is more analogous to looking up swear words in the dictionary. MAYBE it’s bad for the soul to practice cruelty or to think about swear words. But it sure as heck is not bigotry.

Deontology says there are right and wrong actions regardless of consequence. The roomba and drywall examples fail because they have consequences: property damage. Unless kicking and punching a bag at the gym is immoral, too?
