The GOP fight over bigotry isn’t a fight at all. Their entire platform is still very much wrapped up in every type of bigotry imaginable. The problem is that some of the GOPers who fail to be straight, white, fake Christian men have suddenly noticed. And they’re bummed.
"the vice president is neutral on bigotry" is damning on its own as a headline, IMO, but still underplays just how much of what he said was actually pro-bigot
This is NYT headline morning after JD’s grotesque hot blast of white supremacist nativism at Turning Point’s hate-fest?!

NEW — I wrote about Beker Rengifo, a Montana resident from Venezuela who was taken by ICE on Thursday after a routine traffic stop, and how local law enforcement is working with the feds to ensnare people with legal status.

The US military continues to obey clearly illegal orders from this criminal administration, committing murder on the high seas at Trump’s command. More than 100 people murdered now.

There should be much more outrage at this White House crime spree.

To be more clear about a key thing here:

this is a DeSantis law

and a state supreme court that he's pretty much hand-picked allowed it
Just in: Florida's supreme court today has UPHELD a recent state law that enables juries to sentence someone to death nonunanimously.

Bolts reported on FL's law a few years ago, amid huge concern that nonunanimous convictions have a high error rate, & are likelier to sideline Black jurors.

Fiddler on the roof, but with ICE agents playing the part of Cossacks. I know people think of Fiddler as a heartwarming story about a funny man doing Ya-ba-dibba-dibbas, but it's literally about pogroms like this
Masked men wearing ICE vests—but who refused to present a warrant or identify themselves—roped off a construction site, trapping two men on a roof for hours in subzero temps. Protesters gathered. Masked men eventually left, and one man on the roof was taken away by ambulance kstp.com/kstp-news/to...

The People in Charge Think You’re as Bad as Them. Will You Let Them Be Right?
