“Maybe we should’ve just asked that merchant for clearer directions instead of storming off,” he added with a small sigh, the faintest note of fond exasperation in his tone,

“You know, not everyone’s out to insult your sense of direction.”

Alphonse tilted his helm toward his brother, the faint scrape of metal echoing as he leaned closer to glance at the crumpled map,

“Brother… I think you might be holding it upside down again,” he said gently, voice tinged with amusement despite their situation.

He straightened, hands resting on

"I'm not looking to be anything but myself. If you want to put me into a cage, I'll break out and soar above the judgement and hate as a true hero."

He straightened up again, the light from suns beams glinting off the old scratches in his armor as he turned his head this way and that, scanning the unfamiliar signs and narrow alleys.

The hollow tone of his voice lifted with growing worry,

“What if we never find our way back, brother?”

His large frame shifted awkwardly as he stared down at his brother, the faint clink of metal echoing with the movement. The way his helmet dipped just slightly forward gave away his mood, the very essence of a pout trapped behind steel,

“I swore this was the way,” His hollow voice mumbled. ☀︎

The streets bustled with noise and color, vendors calling out over the crowd as a tall suit of armor wandered aimlessly among them.

Alphonse slowed to a stop, glancing around at the unfamiliar area.

A hollow sigh echoed from within the metal,

The Armor was cleaned. It looked almost alive again, a solid reminder of what once was.
