Worst feeling: the body's name isn't right and doesn't fit anymore. But there's not going to be an agreement on a name that fits better for everyone and going through the misery and paperwork of changing it won't be worth it to only be back here once more in a few years (if that). 🙃

Everything in our life has spun wildly out of control over the past year. It's hard to recognize that the house we spent a lifetime building is condemned and we need to finish tearing it down in order to rebuild.

Returning to writing is a part of that. It's the foundation we will build on.

Spent tonight getting into the head of our cyberpunk boy with anger management issues and a penchant for violence. He's not the main character in the novel we're drafting but it felt good to spend some time understanding him and his motivations a bit more.

Nothing like nightmares to start the morning off right.

Planning to dive into some writing once properly caffeinated.

That said, we did draft a poem in response to an art therapy prompt yesterday and we're pretty proud of the concept. Gonna need a lot more polish before it's suitable for human consumption but it was nice to flex those skills and feel more connected to the words we put down on paper.

Had our maintenance ketamine treatment today and that's done wonders after the depresh sesh and energy drop of earlier this week. Feels like things actually reset a bit. Hopefully that'll mean diving into some writing this weekend.

Have a few stories we're reworking and we're currently drafting a cyberpunk MM romance between a hot mess twink rockstar and a grumpy and controlled mercenary. 2026 is going to be the year of writing, we have decreed it.
