On top of that: Attendances were dropping, week on week, and so were YouTube livestreams (more important than you think). Important the club pull the trigger now to try and rejuvenate fan interest. Already seven points off an automatic promotion spot, the next appointment needs to be spot on. #NUFC
Becky Langley was great servant for Newcastle United over last six years, and it's important to recognise that, but anyone who watched the performances this season could see the writing on the wall. Performances were poor, no strategy, formation didn't suit the players. Club needed a change. #NUFC

Carly Johns is in fine form and Bayley Hutchinson is back: Now Hearts just need them to repeat that against the big clubs.

Hearts Women 7-0 Montrose: Shrewd summer signing, squad depth, key return
Hearts Women thumped Montrose for the second weekend running with a summer signing continuing to impress.

In Glasgow for the Scotland match today (will catch up on the Hearts game via YouTube, bare with me) so of course I'm going to go watch Glasgow City v Partick Thistle first.

A nice North Glasgow derby to start the day.
Its interesting to see Jas McQuade get a first call up too. Wth her and Charlotte Wardlaw in the U23s and Freya Gregory in the senior squad, Newcastle United are becoming an accidental Scotland stronghold south of the border.
Bayley Hutchinson, Eilidh Shore, and Monica Forsyth all make the latest Scotland U23 squad. Hearts are the joint most-represented club alongside Rangers & Hibernian. #HMFC
Yeah, it's an interesting twist on how the men's league cup works but definitely weird on the timing front. Who needs a summer holiday anyway...

Selfishly, as a fan of a team that will likely more often than not finish in the "3rd-6th" places, it doesn't seem to affect me too much 😅
Oh absolutely, especially in the Hearts game given how few changes Montrose made to their starting 11. Going to be interesting to see how they line up when the twi meet again on Sunday. I guess these teams will be glad of the new group stage format 😬
Hahaha, very fair. 😂 I'm sure Montrose would have rallied if not for that justice.
Carly Johns keeps up her Hearts hot streak and Georgia Hunter takes a big step in her comeback.

What we learned watching Heart of Midlothian Women demolish Montrose in the SWPL cup. #HMFC

Heart of Midlothian 7 - 0 Montrose
A very comfortable 7-0 win for Heart of Midlothian Women sees them ease into the quarter-final of the SWPL Cup.

Big game for Newcastle United Women this Sunday against Crystal Palace. Can Becky Langley sort out a coherent team formation and finally get the season started? Time will tell. #NUFC

PREVIEW: Crystal Palace v Newcastle United
Can Newcastle United avenge last season's FA Cup defeat and finally kick start their season?

Jenna Slattery is posting some impressive figures as a super sub for Heart of Midlothian this season. She's averaging a goal every 63 minutes and a goal or assist every 50.25 minutes.

Lots for Hearts fans to be excited about with the 20-year-old Irish midfielder. #HMFC
Becky Langley deserves a chance to turn things around at Newcastle United Women, but the clock is definitely ticking now.

My latest piece following another dreadful performance from #NUFC in the #WSL2

Just a reminder that France and Saudi Arabia already tabled the New York declaration back in July, which offered credible path to a two state solution and shut Hamas out of the picture. The US vetoed it, will be interesting to see what their plan involves

I know I said the League Cup doesn't matter but Becky Langley played pretty much a full strength 11 against newly promoted Nottingham Forest tonight and Newcastle United Women still lost. Langley has to go. #NUFC
Been rewatching the Newcastle United women's game and I'm sorry to say this but I just don't think Becky Langley is a very good coach. Just look at the difference between Langley and Merricks, when Birmingham already 4-1 up. No tactics, no leadership. She is failing #NUFC
Huge game for Hearts today. They have never beaten Glasgow City. A win (or even a draw) today would be a huge statement! #HMFC

You can watch the game live via BBC Sports website or iPlayer.
If Newcastle United Women want to get promoted they need to win games like this. Get up to speed on today's opponents ahead of the #WSL2 clash with Birmingham City. #NUFC

I may be biased here but if Georgia is still the player she was right before her injury, I think she'd be a big upgrade on Jenna Clark and Sophie Howard in the Scotland back line.
