going to wallow in self-pity about my situation. Of course I have my moments where I feel sad, & I allow myself to embrace those feelings, but in the grand scheme of things, this is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for me. I get 2 rediscover myself & start again. And I’m only 50 yrs young. 🥰

A very long time ago when I was young and unemployed, Centrelink sent me to a Sarina Russo job agency. The two things I remember: how useless they were at helping me find a job, and how pissed off I was that everyone was given a copy of her dumb book, presumably at taxpayer expense.

Listening to Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Total Exlipse of the Heart’ & now it always reminds me of ‘The Last Showgirl’. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I found that scene where Jamie Lee Curtis’s character, Annette drunkenly gets up on a stage in the pokies room and dances to be particularly poignant.
