Following last year's successful Aloreing Destinations journey, The Ghost Guild and Wake County Public Libraries invite you to continue the adventure into the heart of local lore and legend.
Whether you want a chance to experience one of these spirits, to play with a giant chess board, or just a good book, we think this aloreing destination makes a great addition to any summer itinerary!

Possible explanations could be the building settling, vibrations from nearby traffic, or echoes from other parts of the building.
Occurrences have been described as books and papers being left out, pages turning, disembodied footsteps, apparitions, various electronics being unplugged or turned on/off, and even staff hearing their names.
The final spirit is that of a young man. Little is known of him as he is rarely encountered, but when he is, visitors find him to be quite conspicuous.
Next is an elderly man in late 19th century garb. Lore describes his attachment to the land, not particularly the building, as he is believed to have died in a duel before the library’s development.
First is an older woman that can be seen roaming the library. She is believed to have been a patron of the library in life. Her appreciation of the facility beckons her spirit to enjoy her favorite past time.
Welcome to our first aloreing coastal destination of the summer: The New Hanover County Public Library. Located in Wilmington, it is believed to be haunted by three spirits.
