Needless to say, this is disappointing. We’ve known for DECADES how toxic PFAS are, & the fact that we STILL aren’t taking the steps necessary to phase them out is frustrating. California is usually a trailblazer on these types of things, but it looks like other states are taking the lead on this:
Gov Newsom vetoed legislation banning non-stick cookware and other consumer products containing toxic “forever chemicals”, which are used in Teflon. It’s not just cookware, either. The bill would have also phased PFAS out of children’s/baby products (😡), dental floss, food packaging, and more.(2/4)

The interesting thing is that several other states have already banned PFAS in cookware, so I think the direction is clear. Maybe enlisting these celebrities to speak out is the cookware manufacturers’ final attempt to halt the tide of change?
