Nia DaCosta's Hedda is a lot like being at a party where there's a lot of drama going on that you aren't a part of -- you can just sit back and enjoy the flames. Tessa Thompson shows impressive range and Nina Hoss is a delight.

Checked out Pasa Faho thanks to the Chicago Film Festival. A really confident debut from Kalu Oji, one of those simple little slice of life movies that sneak up on you and make you cry. Would love to see Okey Bakassi in more stuff. Hope more people are able to see this!

Edward Berger's Ballad of a Small Player is a real case of style over substance, but what style! Colin Ferrell does an admirable job keeping things grounded, but this is a story that doesn't fit well with the insane visual bombast used here.
