Leftish socially aware small business owner. (Yes a Chippy!) Living in Belfast. Loves politics, my husband and my French Bulldog Cybil. (In reverse order!) Hates Brexit and all those involved in it.
Also love cars, any type any age. Yes I’m that sad.
If you get access for £10k I wonder what kind of access £6m gets you?

Exceptionalism is the British disease. To put it on terms the political class may understand. If you leave your club do they let you in immediately with no terms?

No thought not.
Thú is exactly the kind of misinformation from @andrewhaglington.bsky.social that will stop the UK actually making the effort of acceed like other countries have.

Firstly, France and Germany did not offer a special deal, because this is not their perogative - applications go through Brussels.

It’s the question of our time. A border poll should be asked now.

We were pulled out of the EU with no mandate. Give us a choice for the future of the country.
Northern Ireland Secretary of State Hilary Benn (son of Tony Benn) pushing back on the idea of a Border Poll (Reunification vote) across the Island of Ireland but doesn't give detail on how he came to that conclusion.

The world class vetting process Farage spouted either didn’t work or this kind of candidate was acceptable?

Either way not a way to grow a party.
Farage back in March: "We've been vetting, I bet, to a standard that no other party has ever done before..."

No one wants nothing in exchange. Ever.

The few that do look for a legacy. No legacy here, unless you want to be central in the destruction of the UK.
Yep, he wants nothing but deregulating crypto to help his crypto business and scrapping net zero to help his aviation fuel business. Which by pure coincidence are two of our policies.

Any progressive should listen to the sense that @steverichards.bsky.social speaks. Always worth a listen and follow.

@hubnut.bsky.social does a really interesting video about a high mileage EV. Nice to watch as I have a new R5. Worth a watch!

@grahamelucas.bsky.social sets the failure of Brexit in percentages. In cash terms that’s billions of pounds in wage growth, tax takings and potential growth of the economy.

What are we intentionally making ourselves poorer?
Brexit’s impact: Brexit has imposed a large and persistent cost on the UK economy. By 2025, we estimate that UK GDP per capita was 6–8% lower than it would have been without Brexit. Investment was 12–18% lower, employment 3–4% lower, and productivity 3–4% lower. ukandeu.ac.uk/brexits-impa...

Isn’t it interesting that the best communicator is politics can’t find the right words?
Nigel Farage, leader of the party who claim to care deeply about women’s equality, yesterday described bbc broadcaster Emma Barnett as a ‘lower grade’ presenter for asking questions about his alleged historic H*tler fanboying.

The one thing Farage hates is scrutiny. The one thing he hasn’t faced is scrutiny.

That needs to change.
Farage now trying to dodge questions from
Harry Horton raising serious allegations of racism from his past.

If he has nothing to hide, why respond like this?

Paging @rarebutnobodycares.bsky.social how about this beauty? Spotted in Elx in Spain. Lovely sound from the V8…

@libdemdaisy.bsky.social hits the nail on the head. We left without the Dublin agreement. Inexcusably stupid, but not surprising knowing the protagonists…
“In 2017 there was not a single asylum seeker who arrived on a boat. Today we have 46,000 a year and do you know why? It was because of the botched Brexit deal pushed through by Boris Johnson and championed by Nigel Farage. Nigel Farage should be here apologising”

@zackpolanski.bsky.social is the voice politics needs. A gifed communicator that can push the Overton Window back to the centre when all the other politicians push it to the right.

I’m looking at you Labour.
I'm trying to avoid politics and the news generally, both on here and IRL, but this genuinely made me cry.
"You're a government of cowards"
Zack Polanski calls out the Labour government's inhumane approach to asylum- highlighting continued austerity as the root cause of structural issues in our society

Irony, the pure irony.
Rather than apologising for his antisemitism, Farage demands the BBC apologise for the antisemitism of Alf Garnett, a fictional character created to satirise antisemitism, who was portrayed by a Jewish man.

The more the scrutiny hits the less competent he appears as a politician.

@adambienkov.bsky.social raises important questions over the funding of political parties. Especially Reform.
Nigel Farage used an LBC appearance in September to accuse the Bank of England of being “dinosaurs” for seeking to place restrictions on the use of Stablecoins by crypto firms like Tether.

He did not declare that Reform had just received a £9 million donation from one of its biggest investors
Crypto Investor Donates £9 Million to Reform UK After Nigel Farage Plugs His Company and Tells Industry 'I Am Your Champion'
The Reform leader recently used media interviews to back Christopher Harborne's company while promising to cut taxes and regulations on crypto firms

As @viviane49.bsky.social accurately states if the Tories/Reform win would the last person put please turn off the lights.
The Tories want to be in power asap. They want the money back in their control.

For that reason they will do a deal with Reform.

Reform can’t win without the Tories.

There is no ambiguity. The Tories/Reform plan to be the next Gov.

And our Country does not need them again

What happened to wanting to grind the Tories to dust?

A reverse takeover would be manna to Labours ears!
Next time Reform claim to be something different, remember this.

@adambienkov.bsky.social just shows the inane and innate bias in the media. Again.
Pleased to discover that slightly misnaming the national chess championship you won as a school child is a much more serious offence than repeatedly racially abusing your fellow pupils and telling them they should go to the gas chamber
