New message box for texts! Currently there's no menu to reread texts...but texts are now being worked on to help with making sure certain quests move along more naturally.

I may rework "Mail" to hold emails and texts together later on.

Note this feature is VERY glitchy, and makes the game crash in the Mail menu and certain room descriptions. I'm still trying to figure out why. Warnings will be placed in the setting toggle.

I do not recommend turning on the switch unless you have saved your game beforehand!
An optional, experimental feature will be added to the game involving gradient text for base text! It will be disabled by default, but players who wish to try it can find it in the settings menu.

Thank you so much! It definitely took a long time to get here but I'm so glad I've made improvements over the years. First I switched from the old "Item Obtained" textbox message to the popup you see there, then made different chests to visually show the item type you're obtaining, and now this! 😁
Experimenting with an animation for treasure chests, instead of just using the basic RPG Maker animation.

I absolutely LOVE the shattered glass. The slight offset of the image to reflect the fractures is SUCH a good attention to detail!
I think that's the one I'm going for, thanks to everyone's suggestions, yours kind of solidifies that :) one person liked the blue-green bits so I'll probably have a separate menu that focuses on that color so it's not lost.

Warm chocolate bar colors it shall be!
That seems to be the way it's looking it'll go :P and yeah, come to think of it, I've seen more brown/red-themed restaraunt menus than blue :P
Speaking of studies, reds and oranges were found to make people hungrier, right? So that makes sense!

The Item Menu within the battle scene now has switchable categories! Instead of regular healing items and food being all in one menu, now you can have a bit more organization.

The help window text has more color, too!

Rememeber in the old demo, you could find tea bags? Now they have a use! While each tea has different effects, they will all remove the Panic state.

Introducing Card Customization! NPC friends can give you an equippable card to lend you their strength, but why don't YOU have a card too?

Even better...you can share it with OTHER PLAYERS with an import/export menu!

Lighting and shading is just about done with J Street!

J Street development has been a LONG process...now that it's just about done, I can take a break and focus on story content! Woohoo!

I had to make a quick fix so that it doesn't crash when the notes "run out", but I'll eventally do a song-by-song end padding.

Next steps:
- replace the arrow text with arrow images
- make Victoria "dance" instead of just step in place
- create a background for the scene
- high score saving
No work on the status icons tonight, but I've been experimenting on something secret for a while...

The coding is a mess, it isn't optimized and VERY barebones, buuuut...proof of concept?

And yes, Friday Night but on a Saturday XD

Major update to battles, states now have image popups instead of just string text! Also numbers are getting an update too. While I didn't include them, HP, MP, Units, and EXP numbers got updates too!
